Vanina Géré

Ancienne élève de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon et agrégée d’anglais, Vanina Géré est spécialiste d’art américain contemporain. Elle achève sa thèse sur Kara Walker, sur qui elle a écrit plusieurs articles, notamment « Violences dans l’œuvre de Kara Walker » (Tracés, 2010). Enseignante à l’Université Paris Sorbonne, elle est également traductrice et critique d’art en freelance.

Vanina Géré is a Doctoral Candidate and junior lecturer at the University Paris Sorbonne. A graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, (Lyon, France), « agrégée » in English, and Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Fine Arts (NYU) in 2006-2007, she specializes in contemporary American art, and currently writes her dissertation on Kara Walker’s post-retrospective work. She is the author of « Forms of Violence in the Work of Kara Walker, » (Tracés, 2010). Deeply committed to the promotion and understanding of contemporary art, she is also a freelance translator and art critic.
